Georgina Benitez (Gina)

OWNER / HEAD COACH

Gina started gymnastics at four years old in Havana and won her first national title at five. By 1987 she was on the Cuban National Team, where she competed across Centro-American, Pan-American, and European World Cup events and brought home more than 150 medals. She moved to the United States in 1995 and turned her attention to coaching: 20 years of it now, alongside 15 years teaching kindergarten and first grade in Miami-Dade County Public Schools. That combination is the heart of how this gym runs: elite-level technical standards, delivered by someone who genuinely understands how young kids learn.

Ovidio Bermudez

COACH / BAR SPECIALIST

Ovidio began training at five and was the youngest member of Cuba's Gymnastics National School by age eight. He joined Cuba's Elite National Team at fifteen, then spent years as a top acrobat with the Cuban National Circus, performing internationally. He's been coaching ever since in Cuba, then on a six-year contract in Mexico, and now as Head Coach of our Xcel team. Few coaches anywhere bring both elite competitive training and professional performance experience, and it shows in how he builds routines around what each athlete does best.

OSMARY ROMERO

COACH / FLOOR SPECIALIST

RUBEN NAVARRO

COACH / VAULT SPECIALIST

Ruben started at six at Cuba's EIDE sports school, competed in the National Games of Gymnastics for over a decade, and earned a spot on the Cuban national team at nineteen. He moved into coaching and spent 1990 to 1994 coaching in Mexico, where his athletes brought home multiple gold and silver medals. He came to the United States in 2007 and has coached in New Jersey and Miami ever since. Ruben is the coach who will notice the half-inch detail nobody else caught decades of discipline, now aimed at making your kid stronger and more precise.

LILLIANA BEATRIZ

COACH / FOUNDATION

COACH / RECREATIONAL

JUAN CONTRERAS

Juan started gymnastics at eighteen in Mérida, Venezuela, after being told he was too old for the sport. Within three years he was representing his state and then his country. He competed for about ten years and has been coaching for eighteen. His philosophy is simple: gymnastics is a vehicle for building the kid, not just the athlete. Beam is his favorite event to teach because it's where kids learn to work through fear, and his favorite moment in any class is the one where a child does something they couldn't do the week before and realizes what that means.
