One of the most common questions we hear from Miami parents calling Gina's Gymnastics for the first time is: "Which class is right for my child?" It's a great question — and the answer depends on a few simple things: your child's age, their experience level, and what they're hoping to get out of gymnastics.
To make it easy, here's a complete breakdown of every program we offer — so you can find the perfect fit before your child even walks through the door.
■ Tiny Tumblers — Ages 2 to 5
This is where the magic begins. Our Tiny Tumblers program is designed specifically for toddlers and young children who are ready to start moving, exploring, and playing in a structured, safe, and joyful environment. Classes focus on basic motor skills through movement games, obstacle courses, and beginner gymnastics activities.
Best for: Children who love to jump, climb, and explore. Also a wonderful first social experience for shy or reserved toddlers who benefit from gentle, structured group time.
■ Recreational Kids — Ages 6 to 12
This is our most popular program. Recreational gymnastics at this age is where children start building real, recognizable skills: cartwheels, roundoffs, handstands, back walkovers, beam work, bars, and more. Classes are structured, energetic, and coached by experienced instructors who know how to keep kids challenged without overwhelming them.
Best for: Kids who want to learn gymnastics for fun, fitness, and confidence — no competition required. Also a great entry point for children who may eventually want to explore the competitive track.
■ Competitive Team — Tweens & Teens
For the gymnast who has a fire in their eyes and wants to take it to the next level, our competitive team is where serious training happens. Athletes train with greater frequency and intensity, work toward mastering higher-level skills, and represent Gina's Gymnastics throughout the season.
Best for: Gymnasts who are passionate, committed, and ready to embrace challenge. Talk to our coaches if you're unsure whether your child is ready — we're always happy to assess and advise with no pressure.
■ Teen Recreational Classes
Not every teenager wants to compete — and that's completely valid. Our teen recreational classes offer a fantastic outlet for older kids who want to stay active, learn gymnastics skills, reduce stress, and be part of a fun community without the pressure of competing.
Best for: Teens new to gymnastics, teens returning after a break, or teens who simply want a great physical activity that isn't a traditional team sport.
